MY GEAR
My gear has evolved quite a bit from when I got into photography in 2015…
I’ve moved away from DSLRs and made the switch to pro mirrorless cameras. Each piece of kit has a role in my creative process. They are tools for me to produce the best result I can. They leave me feel free to create the images that I desire without being limited by the performance of gear. It allows me to forget about the camera, and enables me to connect more directly with the landscape.

THE BEGINNING
Everything started with this camera, it allowed me to learn and to discover the basics of photography. For me, this beginner DSLR is a great tool to develop your photographer’s eye. It has a great 24-megapixel APS-C sensor (for the time) and easy to use manual modes. Despite its age, it still works perfectly well after 7 years of use. Today there is a new version of the camera, the D3500, which is a great camera to start off with in photography.
CAMERAS
Digital Cameras
Nikon
My main landscape photography stills camera
Nikon Z7
Its 45.7 megapixel full-frame sensor has super dynamic range and great detail perfect for my landscape photography.
This device enables me to mount my old F series lenses on my new Nikon Z7
FTZ adapter
My workhorse,
Tamron 24-70mm G1 F2.8
The most versatile lens in my bag and one of the cheapest. It offers great flexibility and quality for a modest price compared to other lenses.
My wide angle lens
Probably my favorite landscape
photography lens
My first Z series lens
Tamron 15-30mm G2 F2.8
Great for those wide views and getting depth in landscape photos.
Tamron 70-200mm G2 F2.8
It has given me a lot of my favourite shots over the years. It allows me to pick out small details in the landscape, giving a simple and sometimes quite minimalist composition.
Nikon Z 50mm F1.8
Its pin-sharp, having a wide aperture, and a 50mm focal length makes it my favorite lens to use for portraits, or for some casual street/landscape photography.
Fuji
My run and gun camera
Fuji XT3
It’s lightweight and portable with its great 26-megapixel APS-C sensor making it a great travel camera. It is also my main video camera, it can film in 4k and offers great flexibility.
Probably the best kit lens you can buy
Fujifilm 18-55 mm F2.8-4
Its wide aperture of f2.8-4, great detail, stabilisation, and lightweight makes it a great little lens for my Fuji XT3.
My lightweight equivalent to a full frame 70-200mm lens
Fujifilm 55-140 mm F2.8
It’s lighter and faster focusing. I love the quality of the lens and it is super portable for the punch it packs.
My latest addition to my lens collection
Fujifilm 23mm f2
Equivalent to a 35mm full-frame lens, it goes in hand with my Nikon 50mm F1.8 for my casual street and landscape photography, it’s super lightweight and can fit just about anywhere. It’s a great addition to my kit.
Film Gear
35mm Cameras
The first film camera that I bought
Nikon F3
It’s a beast built like a brick and made to last. It’s a joy to take photos with it, stripping down photography to the minimum of film, it’s the camera that I use for the majority of my film work.
Another 50 mm, but a fully manual lens
Nikon 50mm AF F1.4
Well built and sharp, the perfect lens to go with my Nikon F3.
My brother’s old film camera.
Minolta 505si super
The film camera my brother used to use when he was in sixth form. It was released in 1998. It has an autofocus system and a film advanced motor. It’s a good camera to have when it’s practical to have that little bit of extra technology!
120mm Medium Format Camera
My first medium format camera, a fully mechanical camera
Mamiya RB67
My latest addition to my collection of gear that I bought for a special photography project that I am currently working on. Its images are 6x7 (6cmx7cm negatives) that give super detail once scanned. On the other hand, it’s a totally manual camera without an exposure meter so It’s a new experience for me.
Great lens for shooting details and portraits
